Writing is Hard

The author Red Smith said, “There’s nothing to writing. You just sit down at the typewriter and open a vein.”

The only thing different for me is that its a computer keyboard instead of a typewriter. But each page comes with a little piece of my life force.  I’ve sacrificed family time, paying work, the nerves in my hands and wrists (more on that later).  Is it worth it? Irrelevant. It’s what I have to do.

The last few years have been difficult. The only marketable piece of work I’ve completed is the novelette in the soon to be released anthology “Coming Together: At Last” Volume 1. But I’m hard at work on a full length novel tentatively titled “Davita’s Legacy”. I’ll be sending it out to publishers in a month or two. Hopefully, that one too will be out early next year.

In the meantime, let me just get ready to let that blood come gushing from my wrist…
